Drought Response & Recovery for Water Utilities Case Study: City of Clinton, Oklahoma

This video describes how the water utility in the city of Clinton, Oklahoma responded to and recovered from severe drought. At one point, Clinton lost its primary water supply and its back-up supply was dwindling. They implemented water restrictions, raised water rates to fund the development of new groundwater wells and a reverse osmosis treatment plant and found a creative solution for disposing of the waste stream from the new plant (underground injection well). This video is featured as part of EPA’s Drought Response and Recovery Guide, a resource designed to help drought-impacted drinking water utilities and their communities respond to drought.
