Severn Trent – North America Announces Five-Year Partnership Deal with Central Basin Municipal Water District
Contract to operate recycled water system includes a five-year renewal option.
Horsham, Pa. – 27 September 2017 Severn Trent - North America is pleased to announce that the Central Basin Water District has selected it to provide operations and maintenance for the Central Basin Municipal Water District’s recycled water system through a public-private partnership. The five-year contract includes an additional five-year renewal option. A key element of the project is the development and implementation of an asset management program using a Hansen Computerized Maintenance Management System.
“Central Basin’s recycled water system plays a key role in the region’s water supply portfolio, serving 1.6 billion gallons of water annually,” said Central Basin General Manager Kevin Hunt. “With their expertise and innovation, Severn Trent will help ensure that we continue delivering this key source of water to our communities.”
This project builds on Severn Trent’s southern California portfolio of distribution and collection systems with the addition of over 80 miles of the District’s recycled water system. Severn Trent has managed water infrastructure in the Golden State for more than 25 years (nearly 200 contract years). The Central Basin Water District partnership is its 12th in the state and expands its footprint that includes operations in Huntington Park, Mountain House, Perris, and Dixon, among several others.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to ensure the long-term protection of the District’s valuable assets and provide safe, clean, and affordable water for its 300 customers,” said Stephane Bouvier, CEO of Severn Trent – North America. “We will accomplish this with our experienced project team, which includes local and national industry experts that are second to none.”
