Severn Trent – North America Announces Borough of Lititz Water Treatment Plant Wins Area Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) Award
Horsham, Pa. – 3 April 2017 Severn Trent – North America is pleased to announce that the Borough of Lititz (Penn.) Water Treatment Plant (WTP) has received a 2016 Area Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) award. This award, which recognizes outstanding efforts toward optimizing filter plant turbidity performance, was bestowed upon the top-performing filter plants that submitted their 2016 WebOAS turbidity data. Along with Lititz, 11 other small filter plants (serving less than 10,000 people) won this prestigious award. The Lititz WTP received this honor in 2014 as well.
Since Severn Trent assumed management of Lititz’s water and wastewater treatment facilities in 1988, the 4 million gallons per day (MGD) WTP has consistently provided residents with high-quality drinking water while the wastewater treatment plant has had an excellent record of regulatory compliance.
