New EPA Program Helps Consumers Save on Water Bills

According to the EPA, easily corrected water leaks can rob consumers of eight percent of their water bills. And a staggering 30 percent or more of water used by household irrigation systems is lost through evaporation, improper design, installation and maintenance.

Water Industry Responds to Indonesian Earthquake

On May 27, nature once again showed her awesome, destructive power when a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Java. More than 5,700 residents of the region were killed by the quake, with tens of thousands injured and more than 500,000 left homeless.

EPA Demonstration Project in New Mexico Achieves Excellent Results

The Town of Taos was awarded an arsenic removal treatment system as part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Arsenic Removal Demonstration Program in January 2005.

Southern California Again a Trendsetter with Innovative Approach to Water Recycling

Over the next ten years, the expected swell in global population will undoubtedly lead to greater water needs and a rise in the production of wastewater. Already, as communities approach the limits of their available water supplies in their effort to meet the needs of potable, agricultural, industrial and commercial consumers, water reclamation and reuse are becoming necessary to conserve and expand the dwindling supply.

Florida Governmental Utility Authority Renews $74 Million O&M Contract

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) has renewed its contract with Severn Trent Services to operate and maintain four water and wastewater systems owned by the FGUA for a term of five years. The $74 million contract, the largest executed by Severn Trent Services in the United States, began on June 1 and includes an additional five-year option.
