Mobile, on-site disinfection, available when you want, where you want, is the latest development from Severn Trent Services. Its mobile ClorTecTM unit is a compact, self-contained system that can be towed on site and can be operating within minutes.
Traditionally, chlorine has been one of the most popular means of disinfection, but it requires extra care in handling and specialized equipment for its use. The Severn Trent Services mobile ClorTec unit provides disinfection by generating sodium hypochlorite. The main ingredient used in the process is pure dry vacuum salt, which is dissolved, diluted and passed over electrodes powered by a low voltage direct current. The resulting solution is passed directly into the distribution system.
The main advantage of this process is that the raw materials — just water, salt and electricity — are incomparably safer to store and use than chlorine gas or bulk sodium hypochlorite. And in terms of use, the ClorTec on-demand system produces just the required amount of sodium hypochlorite.
In addition to the inherent safety of the materials and process, the sodium hypochlorite is automatically produced to the required 0.8% dilution.
