The energy in a motive fluid is used to entrain and remove noxious gases, fumes, and dusts from a contaminated gas stream. Systems with separators are available for once-through liquid operation, and skid mounted package systems with separators with liquid storage, a recirculation pump and piping reduce the amount of makeup liquid required. The conventional venturi has a side gas inlet and bottom gas and liquid discharge. However, inline units and wet approach units with body washdown are available.
