The Capital Controls® Series Z-CHLOR 3000 residual sulfite analyzer provides continuous measurement of sulfite residuals typically found in applications where sulfur compounds are used to eliminate residual chlorine from treated waters. Residual chlorine is normally removed by injection of sulfur dioxide gas or a solution of sodium bisulfate. As long as there is an excess of sulfite ion in the effluent, chlorine is effectively zero. In most facilities where dechlorination is required, relatively high sulfite residuals are maintained in order to ensure the effective removal of chlorine. The Z-CHLOR 3000 measures the sulfite residual and provides an output that can be used to control chemical consumption.
The Z-CHLOR 3000 sensor does not come into contact with the sample, and therefore is not affected by sulfur reducing bacteria that may be present in the water and could lead to fouling problems.
Benefits/Features:
-
Non-contact measurement between the sample and sensor, eliminating the potential for sensor fouling.
-
Sulfite ion is measured selectively by conversion to sulfur dioxide.
-
Continuous sulfite measurement ensures complete dechlorination while reducing chemical consumption.
-
Automatic system for cleaning the sample inlet line to control fouling is provided by the analyzer.
-
Two control relays provide on/of control for direct chemical feed pump modulation.
Isolated 4-20 mA output.
