The F4000 Fluoride Immersion probe and the F4000 Fluoride Sensing module, in conjunction with the processor based Series 4000 MicroChem®2[S1] transmitter/controller, form a simple and reliable system for measuring fluoride.

The system is primarily used for measuring fluoride in drinking water treatment plants where the fluoride is added to aid dental protection. The system can also be used in industrial applications such as a “polishing” agent for cleaning steel where the acid is extremely corrosive and must be tightly controlled.

Both the immersion probe and the sensing module contain a gel filled combination fluoride ion selective electrode. The gel requires no refilling and the sensor is maintenance free. The probe includes both the fluoride sensor and the reference electrode, therefore a separate reference electrode is not required.

The immersion probe is designed to fit in to a strong outer housing that ensures contact with the process and gives good mechanical protection.

The sensor module consists of a flow cell where the sample is mixed with TISAB buffer before fl owing past the fluoride electrode (buffer addition gives better accuracy and removes interference affects).
