Wet scrubbers are used to absorb soluble gases into water or other liquids such as solutions of caustic or acid, and to remove particulates from gas streams by contacting with water or other liquid.
Wet scrubbers are economical, simple to operate, and can easily be fabricated of corrosion-resistant materials. Ejector venturi scrubbers create draft and can be used without a fan in many instances. Multistage systems are available to achieve almost any required efficiency level.
