TETRA's DeepBed™ Pressure Filters are custom designed to meet the unique criteria of each application. These pressure filters feature filter rates up to 15 gpm/ft2, they are automatic in both filtration and backwashing cycles, with the filter as a stand-alone operation. Flexibility is built into the state-of-the-art control systems to allow operator input to change to manual or automatic modes. TETRA's DeepBed™ pressure filters combination of nozzle-less filter bottom and spherical monomedia provides special benefits for the industrial market.
Key Benefits
- Specific solid loading up to 6 lbs/ft2
- Average TSS of up to 100 mg/l or greater
- Average filtration rates up to 15 gpm/ft2. The unique advantage of TETRA's media is the retention of solids, oils and grease throughout the bed, rather than the surface screening, which occurs in most filter systems. TETRA's pressure filters media allows solids to penetrate the bed surface and become entrapped through the full depth of the filter media below. All Pressure Filters are designed, fabricated and stamped in accordance with ASME code.
- Longer filter run times. Runs 5-10 times longer than other filters before backwashing is necessary. The roundness and uniformity of TETRA's media creates a greater usable void volume for solid capture in the filter bed. Efficient in removing oils and grease from influent waters.
- Available in vertical or horizontal configurations. Typical vertical pressure filter sizes are 8' through 16'-6" in increment of 6" and horizontal pressure filters are 14' diameter and up to 36' in length. All horizontal filters are limited to four feet of media. Vertical pressure filters are available in pre-piped and pre-wired configurations.
- Available with standpipe or pumped backwash.
- Heavy duty concurrent air and water backwash.
- Independent means for backwash water and air to enter the filter for superior backwashing capabilities.
- Low backwash water use. Total water used for backwash is as little as 2% of the plant throughput, compared to the 10-20% needed by other systems. The backwash water rate is 6 gpm/ft2. Our underdrain assures even distribution of backwash air and water throughout the vessel, preventing channeling and dead spots.
